In a shocking turn of events, Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago, a Democrat, is suggesting a plan to bus border crossers and illegal aliens out of the city and into surrounding suburbs. Isn’t it ironic how sanctuary cities, like Chicago, claim to provide a safe haven for illegal immigrants, yet now they want to ship them off to other areas? It’s clear that Chicago can’t handle the consequences of their own misguided policies.
Mayor Johnson claims to have received “tremendous feedback” from other mayors in the surrounding counties, indicating support for his plan. It’s no surprise that other liberal politicians would jump on board with this idea. But what about the concerns and opinions of the citizens who actually live in these suburbs? Are their voices being heard? I highly doubt it.

This plan appears to be a copycat of what New York City’s Mayor Eric Adams has done, busing thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens to upstate New York without any coordination with local officials. This lack of transparency and disregard for the concerns of the affected communities is a prime example of how out-of-touch liberal politicians operate.
It’s also worth noting that Chicago officials have refused to disclose how they’ve spent over $120 million of taxpayer dollars allocated to border crossers and illegal aliens. Who knows where that money has gone, but it’s safe to assume that it has not been used responsibly. This is just another example of liberal cities prioritizing the needs of illegal immigrants over the needs of American citizens.
It’s clear that Mayor Johnson’s plan is nothing more than a political stunt to cater to the far-left agenda. Instead of focusing on the real issues facing Chicago, such as crime and economic development, the mayor is more interested in virtue signaling and playing politics. It’s time for conservative leadership that prioritizes the needs of American citizens, not illegal immigrants.
