As China’s economy teeters on the brink of chaos, it looks like the tariff tactics are hitting bullseye. The Chinese, once posturing as though their economic machine could withstand anything, have been blindsided by the brutal reality of U.S. tariffs. Factory closures are skyrocketing, and angry workers are taking to the streets, demanding wages long overdue. It’s almost poetic to watch this authoritarian regime scramble as their arrogant house of cards begins to teeter because of their own inability to play by the free market rules.
The importance of a strong economy cannot be overstated, especially for a regime like China’s that thrives on control. They’re now realizing the hard way that they can’t control the markets by just strong-arming their way through. American companies, tired of the costly tariffs, are pulling the rug out from under Chinese factories by canceling export orders. Without these orders, the Chinese economy is sinking faster than the Titanic. As protests pop up from Hunan to Inner Mongolia, unrest becomes a serious threat to China’s image and the Communist Party’s grip on power.
"Xi can only stay the Supreme Leader if people are employed."
"America is the #1 economy on earth with all the cards. We will not have that forever. It's time to squeeze Chinese heads into the wall."

The reality is hitting hard: China needs America much more than America needs China. While China has been trudging under the misconception that their economic strength could outmaneuver the U.S., they are now trapped. Even as they try to downplay it, the headlines don’t lie. They are even preparing to resume trade talks they once arrogantly shunned. It’s a sign of desperation. As China’s economy falters, their efforts to quietly exempt crucial American goods from tariffs show just how frantic they’ve become to save face and stay afloat.
Liberal critics who mocked Trump’s tariffs as reckless are now conveniently absent from the conversation as China buckles under pressure. It’s amusingly hypocritical how they turn a blind eye to the suffering inflicted on China by its own stubborn policies. The same folks who cried foul at every turn of the Trump administration’s tariff battle are now suspiciously quiet about China’s backpedaling. It’s a classic case of liberal shortsightedness mixed with a quiet admission of the success of a stronger, bolder America-first trade policy.
As we march forward, the question is not if China will concede but just how deep they will grovel as they crawl back to the negotiating table. How’s that for a win for the good old Red, White, and Blue?
