Christian School Fights Back: Trans Athletes vs. Fair Sports in VT

A Vermont Christian school is fighting back against state officials who had the audacity to ban them from participating in the state’s sports leagues. Why, you ask? Well, it’s all because of their stance on biological females competing against biological male “transgender” athletes. Can you believe it?

Mid Vermont Christian School (MVCS) took a stand when they refused to play against a team that included a transgender player. They knew that allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports would jeopardize fairness and the safety of their own players. And you know what? They were right.

But instead of understanding and respecting MVCS’s concerns, the Vermont Principals’ Association decided to punish them by making them ineligible to participate in any sporting events or activities overseen by the organization. Talk about a slap in the face to religious freedom and common sense.

The school decided to take matters into their own hands and filed a lawsuit, asserting that the ban is a violation of their First Amendment rights. And you know what? They’re absolutely right! Vermont has a history of discriminating against religious schools and families, and this is just another example of it.

It’s baffling how the state can force a Christian school to abandon their beliefs in order to receive public funds and compete in sports. This is a clear infringement on their constitutional rights, and it’s about time someone stood up against this madness.

Two families whose children attend MVCS have also joined the lawsuit, highlighting how the state’s policies have negatively affected their children. Not only are these students missing out on valuable tuition reimbursement, but they’re also being excluded from playing competitive sports and participating in academic competitions.

It’s truly disheartening to see how far our society has strayed from common sense and fairness. Allowing biological males to compete against biological females is not progress; it’s a direct assault on the integrity of women’s sports. We must protect the values and principles that have shaped our great nation, and that includes prioritizing the fairness and safety of all athletes.

Kudos to Mid Vermont Christian School for taking a stand and fighting for their rights. Let’s hope the courts see the error of their ways and put an end to this discriminatory ban. Our children and our society deserve better than this.
