As members of Congress reluctantly trickle back into the nation’s capital, tans fading and golf clubs stowed away, they are faced with a harrowing task: funding the federal government and avoiding yet another disastrous shutdown. It’s like watching a bunch of kids who left their homework until the last minute, scrambling to finish it before the teacher notices.
As the August recess ends and members of Congress trickle back into D.C., Chip Roy is ready for "game time" when it comes to debating funding bills needed to avert a federal government shutdown at the end of September.https://t.co/CbgohOSnIY

But let’s not be fooled by their delay tactics. While the leaders of Congress seemed to have no sense of urgency before their lavish vacations, the real fight is about to explode. We have a Democrat-controlled Senate, a GOP-controlled House, and the menacing presence of the Biden White House, eagerly waiting to expand the power and reach of the federal government.
Republicans should not fund (with debt – see chart) the things they campaign against – and then just shrug… border… DOJ weaponization… DOD wokeness… IRS abuse… COVID tyranny. Extending a CR of the disastrous Omni is non-starter. #NoSecurityNoFunding https://t.co/atf3KQQNg5 pic.twitter.com/A9JGzrLS1a

Thanks Joshua, and God Bless. Determined to keep fighting it.
“We can’t do anything until next election cycle” is not good enough, period. Time for action #PowerOfThePurse #Federalist58 https://t.co/0FUGK7bJUc

If Republicans in Congress want to win elections in 2024, they’ll actually listen to what @chiproytx is trying to tell them. https://t.co/yuejYoWXyc

With a mere 25 days left until the government’s funding runs dry, the stage is set for a messy showdown. The burning question is, what will the House Republicans agree upon? Will they have the backbone to stand up for their principles, or will they cave to the pressure of compromise?
Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) is certainly not one to back down. He refuses to accept any concessions that would tarnish the promises he and his fellow Republicans made to the American people. Among these promises, border security reigns supreme. The left may find it controversial, but to Roy, the idea of a border wall is non-negotiable. After all, we paid for it, folks!
To make matters worse for the Democrats, Roy bluntly declared, “If somebody’s getting all squeamish about the border wall, I mean, frankly my response is: Kiss my a**.” You have to admire the man’s candidness. He understands the importance of a physical barrier and refuses to let political correctness stand in the way.
Of course, the Democrats find every excuse to scoff at the wall, from funding “climate programs” to their beloved “diversity programs.” But enough already! It’s time to put the American people first and secure our borders. Roy is absolutely right when he emphasizes the need for border infrastructure. Who can argue with that?
As the days draw closer to the ultimate funding battle, Roy and his ally, Senator Mike Lee, are gearing up for the fight of their lives. They are ready to stand firm against the Biden administration and the Democrats. Lee even raises an important question: Why should voters choose Republicans in the future if they continue to be nothing more than a rubber stamp for Biden’s reckless agenda?
The fate of our country is at stake. Will our elected officials finally deliver on their promises, or will they succumb to political expediency and betray the American people? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: Chip Roy and Mike Lee are not backing down. It’s time to fight for the values that make America great, even if it means ruffling a few feathers along the way.
