Pennsylvania Senate Republican candidate Dave McCormick has shared his firsthand account of witnessing the attempted assassination against former President Donald Trump. In an interview with Breitbart News, McCormick praised Trump’s courage during the incident.
During the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, McCormick spoke with Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle about the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. McCormick, who was in the front row and scheduled to speak just moments before the shooting occurred, described how he saw the president stand up and noticed blood on his face.

Impressed by Trump’s defiance and ability to reassure the crowd, McCormick marveled at the president’s bravery. He stated that most people, if faced with such a situation, would likely stay in the fetal position, but Trump showed extraordinary courage.
Boyle went as far as describing the survival of the attempted assassination as a “divine intervention” and believed that the “hand of God” was watching over Trump.
Reflecting on the incident, McCormick emphasized the gravity of how disastrous it could have been. He recounted speaking with his daughters, who were terrified by the thought that their father’s safety could be at risk simply because he chose to run for public office to serve his country.
Shifting gears to the Pennsylvania Senate election, McCormick expressed concern for the state’s residents. He highlighted issues such as skyrocketing inflation and the fact that a significant percentage of Pennsylvanians live paycheck to paycheck. McCormick also criticized the rising crime rates in cities like Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Erie.
McCormick blamed his Democratic opponent, Sen. Bob Casey, for embracing a more leftist agenda as Pennsylvania has become more conservative. He claimed that Casey, along with President Joe Biden, has waged a war on fossil fuels, exacerbating the state’s problems.
