In a scathing rebuke of the Biden Administration, the Democratic mayor of Eagle Pass, Texas, Rolando Salinas, blamed President Biden for the overwhelming surge of illegal aliens infiltrating the southern border. Mayor Salinas declared a state of emergency after over 5,000 illegal aliens from Mexico flooded into Eagle Pass within just five days. When asked if he holds President Biden responsible for this crisis, Salinas didn’t mince his words: “I believe 100 percent, he does bear some responsibility for this crisis.” Ouch!
Mayor Salinas went on to express his disappointment in the lack of communication and support from the federal government. He lamented the absence of any outreach from President Biden or Vice President Harris, stating, “I haven’t heard from anybody in the administration. Nobody has bothered to call me or anyone in the city staff saying, ‘hey, this is the federal government, we’re worried about you, this is our plan of action.'” It seems like the Biden Administration has left Eagle Pass feeling abandoned and alone in their fight against the border crisis.

In a heartfelt plea, Mayor Salinas urged the Biden Administration to enforce existing immigration laws, highlighting the unfairness to those who go through the legal process. He emphasized, “We’re a nation of laws, that’s all I ask for. Please, just enforce the laws that are on the books.” Mayor Salinas reiterated the importance of legal immigration, expressing that it is unfair to those who have followed the rules to see thousands of people entering the country without facing any consequences. Hear, hear!
In August alone, there were a staggering 232,972 migrant encounters at the southern border, making it the highest figure of the year and the highest number for August ever recorded, according to data from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. These numbers are undeniably alarming and demonstrate the urgent need for the Biden Administration to get a handle on the border crisis. It’s time for action, not empty promises. The American people deserve security, and the mayor of Eagle Pass made his concerns loud and clear. Will anyone in the Biden Administration listen? Conservative Americans certainly hope so.
