In a move that showcases his unwavering commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of his fellow Americans, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has once again demonstrated true leadership by signing an executive order to authorize rescue operations in Israel. The courageous decision comes after the vicious attack by Hamas terrorists on October 7th, which left countless innocent lives hanging in the balance.
With the suspension of major airline operations following the attack, thousands of U.S. citizens found themselves stranded in a foreign land, yearning for the warmth and security of their homeland. But fear not, my friends, for Governor DeSantis is here to save the day! Recognizing the plight of these stranded individuals, many of them proud Floridians, our fearless governor has stepped up to the plate and taken decisive action.
In an order that oozes compassion and resolve, Governor DeSantis declared, “We will not leave our residents behind.” He called out President Biden for his lackluster response, which initially suggested that stranded Americans should rely on “ground options.” Seriously, ground options? While other countries were busy sending planes to bring their citizens back home, the Biden administration seemed content to let our people figure it out themselves. It’s a good thing we have leaders like DeSantis to fill in where the President falls short.

But wait, there’s more! Not only did Governor DeSantis sign the executive order, he also delivered a powerful message to those Floridians who have been anxiously waiting to return home: “To the many Floridians who are stuck in Israel, trying to get home — help is on the way.” Can you hear the collective sigh of relief from those stranded souls? It is the sound of hope, the sound of a leader who is willing to go the extra mile to keep his constituents safe and secure.
And to add to the celebration, the State Department announced that starting on October 13th, they would be arranging charter flights to bring our stranded compatriots home. It’s about time! It’s unfortunate that it took Governor DeSantis stepping in for the federal government to actually get its act together. But hey, better late than never, right?
