DeSantis Soars as Trump’s Top VP Contender; Haley Flounders Amid MAGA Ire

Former President Donald Trump is mulling over potential running mates for his big political comeback, and boy, are the Republican and independent voters buzzing! According to the latest Economist/YouGov survey, it seems like the majority of voters are giving a big thumbs up to just about anyone Trump is considering.

First up, we’ve got Florida’s steadfast Gov. Ron DeSantis stealing the show with a whopping 68% approval rating as Trump’s possible running mate. It’s clear as crystal that folks are loving this guy and his no-nonsense, conservative approach to politics. Following closely behind are some other heavy-hitters like former housing honcho Ben Carson, the fierce Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and the hunky Gov. Greg Abbott. These guys are all getting nods of approval from the patriots out there who are ready to see Trump back in action.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. It seems that a mere 36% are on board with Trump potentially picking her, and get this, a whopping 51% of registered Republicans and lean-right independents are saying, “No way, Jose!” It’s no surprise, really. Haley’s jabs at the former president during her own little run for the presidency didn’t exactly sit well with the MAGA crowd, and gosh, those voters sure do have long memories.

Now, let’s dish the dirt on some other potential picks who were left out of the poll, like Sen. J.D. Vance and the fiery Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. It’s a wild ride of speculation, folks, and Trump himself seems to be giving a little extra love to Sen. Tim Scott. It’s like he’s the frontrunner in the eyes of the big guy himself.
