Rep. Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was quick to brand Trump’s comments as “repulsive” and “insulting,” as if calling out someone’s dubious racial history reveals some profound sin against humanity. The Harris campaign jumped in with both feet, accusing Trump of sowing division, a line that’s become as tired as a Sunday afternoon nap. Yet, the point remains: President Trump’s questioning of Harris’ motives may not be pretty, but it does shine a light on potential inconsistencies that average Americans seem quite comfortable discussing.
In the midst of these events, fellow Republican Senator Lindsey Graham suggested that Trump needs to change his angle of attack. Instead of playing identity politics, Graham believes the focus should shift squarely to Harris’ history of terrible policy decisions. If anyone is truly dividing the nation, it’s the Harris administration itself, steering the country towards uncharted waters with policies that don’t always sit well with informed American voters. Graham’s plea for substance over style seems lost on those who prefer to engage in identity warfare rather than tackle real issues Americans care about.
The echoes of past campaigns are loud as Chris Christie takes a shot at Trump, accusing him of reverting to his “greatest hits” when the heat is on.
