Kamala Harris has found herself in quite the pickle, boasting about a debate with Donald Trump that she insists he already agreed to on September 10, hosted by ABC News. This begs the question: is Kamala really trying to stir the pot, or just trying to distract from her own questionable political abilities? Accusations of Trump being scared to debate her smell a lot like déjà vu, as the same tired narrative was spun during the Biden vs. Trump showdown. Spoiler alert: it didn’t exactly work in the Democrats’ favor last time, and it’s not likely to do so this time.
Rick Moran from PJM recently reported that Trump managed to snag a debate agreement with Fox News for September 4, right before the voting mayhem starts, throwing a serious wrench into Kamala’s plans. Trump, being Trump, took to Truth Social and made it clear that he was stepping up to the plate, ready to take on the presumptive Democratic nominee, whom he affectionately refers to as Crazy Kamala. The dramatics surrounding the sudden switch from “Sleepy Joe” to Kamala have not gone unnoticed. The Democrats’ attempt at a fast one—replacing a candidate mid-game—does not contribute to their air of legitimacy.

What makes this all the more entertaining is the Harris campaign’s collective eye roll at Trump’s decision to move the venue from the left-leaning ABC to the more favorable Fox News. They’re accusing Trump of being scared and looking for a way out of a debate he supposedly committed to on September 10. It’s tough to take these claims seriously when it’s painfully clear that Kamala would rather not face Trump on stage. After all, one must recall the last time she was on a debate stage and how Tulsi Gabbard put her in a headlock and left her gasping for air during the Democratic primaries.
It seems that Dewey Decimal is not the only thing Kamala would rather avoid; the prospect of ensuing a verbal exchange with Donald Trump is likely sending shivers down her spine. Isn’t it fascinating how she can try to twist the narrative, attempting to make it look like she is the one calling the shots? The reality is that she’s hoping to cling to the Sapient’s previous structure while evading a face-off that the American people would find utterly hilarious, not to mention telling of her capabilities.
With the stage set for a probable drama that won’t pan out, one wonders how long the back-and-forth bickering will last. Each candidate will likely continue blaming the other for running away, all while enjoying the circus that is the current political landscape. While the chatter may amuse some, others are left pondering why we aren’t seeing a legitimate debate in the first place. The truth is that insanity seems to reign supreme in the Democratic camp, and Trump might just be the last man standing in the ring as they dance around the elephants in the room.
