Failed Assassination Attempt on Trump Thwarted by Secret Service in PA

In yet another alarming example of an unhinged leftist taking things way too far, Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, this past Saturday. Authorities discovered a remote bomb detonator near Crooks’ body on the rooftop of AGR International, Inc., just outside the rally grounds. Local station WPXI reported that a gray, 12-button remote and a cellphone were found alongside the would-be assassin’s corpse.

It appears Crooks had grander plans for mayhem, as authorities also discovered an explosive device in his car. The New York Post suggested he intended to create a diversion while carrying out his cowardly sniper attack. Fortunately, a Secret Service sniper neutralized Crooks before he could execute his scheme. One can only imagine the chaos if this leftist maniac had succeeded in triggering the bomb.

The true extent of Crooks’ plot was revealed online when podcast host and former Special Forces sniper Matt Tardio noted that Crooks had obtained a remote detonator specifically designed for an Alpha Wireless Firing System. This clandestine preparation underscores the premeditation and malice driving Crooks, a name ironically fitting his nature.

Adding to the bizarre scenario, CNN reported that Crooks had requested the day off work for some ominous, undisclosed “something to do.” His behavior raised flags at the rally’s security screening area when he passed through with a rangefinder—an instrument typically used by hunters and target shooters. Alert security personnel maintained their vigilance, which likely played a pivotal role in thwarting his devious intentions.

Before his thwarted attack, Crooks attempted to set up shop on the AGR International roof around 5:45 p.m., according to WPXI. An officer who confronted him faced an AR-style assault and had to retreat. A Secret Service counter sniper shot and killed Crooks at 6:11 p.m., thus preventing a national tragedy.

Apart from the remote-controlled explosives in his vehicle, Crooks had further stashed fully-loaded magazines and a bulletproof vest. The quick and effective response from the Secret Service ensured these items never saw their intended use. These facts highlight the capabilities and importance of law enforcement and security personnel, who acted swiftly to protect President Trump and countless rally attendees from a potentially devastating attack.

The political landscape remains fraught with danger as extremists, driven by leftist ideology, resort to violence. This incident underscores the vigilance necessary to combat such radical threats.
