In the ongoing clash between Big Tech, partisan politics, and the ever-watchful gaze of the FBI, a new chapter has unfolded involving Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN). This pro-Trump streaming outlet recently found itself caught in the crosshairs of a federal investigation, thanks to America First Legal. Their lawsuit against the FBI and the Justice Department brings forth a bevy of accusations regarding election interference orchestrated by the Biden-Harris administration and their tech allies.
America First’s legal battle is fueled by the claim that the government engaged in mass surveillance of social media, all in a bid to influence the 2022 midterm elections. It’s not hard to imagine the federal agents in their New York and San Francisco offices, hunched over flickering screens, flagging posts on RSBN for anything that might remotely resemble a “criminal violation of election law.” Apparently, a social media post criticizing President Biden can now qualify as tantamount to treason in the eyes of the very government that should protect citizens’ rights to free speech.

Gene Hamilton, the executive director at America First Legal, chastises the left’s incessant fixation on “misinformation.” This obsession, he argues, has seeped into law enforcement agencies who, instead of tackling violent crime, feel the need to police our online conversations. It’s a curious use of federal resources, especially in cities suffering actual crime waves. One has to wonder if the FBI’s priorities are more about silencing conservative voices than serving and protecting American citizens.
On the legal front, it seems the Supreme Court has been less than keen on intervening regarding the feds’ cozy relationship with social media companies. A recent case saw red states accuse the Biden administration of colluding with Big Tech to suppress COVID-related posts. Despite the tantalizing claims, the high court ultimately left room for the government to pressure these companies, allowing its “concerns” to guide which voices get amplified online.
So, while the FBI is busy flagging social media posts that might offend the liberal narrative, actual crime is left unchecked in many major cities. This ironic twist to the tale underscores the significant disconnect between authority and the American public. The tides are shifting, and a growing number of Americans are likely feeling the effects of this so-called “systemic rot” within the Department of Justice. In a time where the First Amendment should be celebrated, it seems anything but is happening—a chilling reminder of what could come next if this trend isn’t reversed.
