Poor Biden still hasn’t caught on that young Americans might be a bit more concerned about his foreign policy blunders than his student loan shell games.
Enter the GOP saviors, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey and Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, who are heralded as the heroes in this tale. Bailey pointed out the Constitution didn’t give Biden the green light to offload a half-trillion-dollar debt onto hardworking Americans. Kobach, never one to mince words, called Biden’s scheme unfair, arguing that blue-collar workers in Kansas shouldn’t be paying off the student loans of Ivy League grads who may have majored in avant-garde basket weaving.
But wait, there’s more! Biden, in a move sure to shock nobody, pivoted to his favorite punching bag, former President Donald Trump. Biden’s campaign floundered over Trump’s so-called failure to care about American lives. In reality, Trump’s take on this was refreshingly blunt: Biden’s student debt antics are nothing more than pricey election stunts that have been and will likely continue to be shot down by the courts.
With Trump predicting the SAVE program’s ultimate demise, even the scholars at places like CATO Institute are left scratching their heads, underlining how Biden’s team has tried one scheme after another to bend existing laws for a political win. The Polled masses have offered their two cents too; while a small fraction of Republicans express support for federal student debt relief, a vast majority of Democrats are all in for Biden’s pie-in-the-sky plans.
