GOP Revolt: Scalise’s Speaker Bid Rocked by Brave Conservatives!

The upcoming vote for a new Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives has hit a snag, causing a delay in the floor vote. It seems that the GOP Speaker nominee, Rep. Steve Scalise, is facing opposition from within his own party. Several members of the House Republican Conference have voiced their intention to vote against Scalise, throwing a wrench into his plans.

Among those who have declared their opposition to Scalise are Reps. Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Max Miller, Thomas Massie, Anna Paulina Luna, Carlos Gimenez, Michael Cloud, Troy Nehls, and Chip Roy. These brave conservatives refuse to fall in line with the closed-door vote outcome, revealing their determination to bring real change to the leadership of the House.

Rep. Boebert took to social media to make her stance clear. She expressed her support for Rep. Jim Jordan, emphasizing that the American people deserve new leadership. Boebert believes that the closed-door vote became a missed opportunity due to the influence of the Swamp and K Street lobbyists. Her bold declaration demands a Speaker who truly represents the interests of the American people, not the status quo.

Rep. Greene voiced a different concern regarding Scalise’s health. She revealed her sympathy for his recent cancer diagnosis and expressed her desire for him to focus on overcoming that battle rather than taking on the demanding role of Speaker. To Greene, the fight against cancer takes precedence over the fight against the communist Democrats. She believes America needs a full leadership team dedicated to the pressing issues of our time.

Rep. Bob Good added fuel to the fire, stating that he not only voted for Rep. Jordan in the Republican Conference but also voted for the conference to continue until a candidate receives the required support of 217 members. Good is steadfast in his support for Jordan and firmly rejects the status quo. He believes the country cannot afford to continue with business as usual.

Congressman Ken Buck finds himself in the undecided category. While the numbers of ‘no’ votes and ‘undecided’ members may vary, Buck is clear that he has reservations about Scalise’s bid for Speaker. He remains cautious and thoughtful in his decision-making process, echoing the need for change.

Rep. Chip Roy expressed his frustration over the handling of the vote, criticizing the House GOP for calling the vote at 3:00 PM right after the conference vote without giving members ample time to deliberate. Roy declares his decision not to vote for Scalise, emphasizing his disapproval of the rushed and purposeful nature of the vote.

The opposition within the Republican Party reflects a growing dissatisfaction with the current state of leadership and a desire for a genuine shift in priorities. These brave conservatives refuse to toe the party line and stand firm in their convictions. The American people deserve a Speaker who will fight for their values, secure the border, protect our children, and hold the weaponized government accountable. The battle for the Speaker’s gavel continues, and it remains to be seen who will emerge victorious.
