GOP lawmakers have ramped up their support for Israel in the wake of missile attacks launched by Iran, promptly placing the blame on the Biden administration for this latest act of aggression. As the Iranian regime continues its missile barrage on the Jewish state, Republicans are not holding back in suggesting that years of weakness from the current administration have emboldened the mullahs. Apparently, in the Democratic playbook, weakness is a new strength—a concept that is about as nonsensical as a vegan steak.
Following the onslaught, members of Congress rushed to express their unwavering support for Israel. However, while Democrats were busy issuing platitudes, Republicans took the opportunity to underline the consequences of President Biden’s decisions over the past few years. With perfect timing, they argued that the administration’s rollback of Trump-era policies, ones designed to keep Iran under wraps, has created a playground for terror in the region. Iran now seems to be running amok because they know they can kick sand in the face of Uncle Sam without facing much blowback.

Senator Rick Scott provided a reminder about the glory days of American foreign policy when Iran was effectively “weak, broke, and powerless.” He painted a dire picture of the current situation, claiming the Biden team has gifted the Iranian regime billions of dollars while unleashing a torrent of missile attacks on Israel. It seems the Democratic approach to foreign policy revolves around a simple motto: “Let’s just keep giving money to the bullies.” Scott made it clear that the U.S. must stand firmly with Israel and deliver every ounce of necessary support to help the Jewish state defend itself.
The chorus of discontent among the Republicans only grew as they accused the Biden administration of fostering an environment of chaos that directly contributed to these attacks. Some lawmakers even suggested that if former President Trump were still sitting in the Oval Office, Iran would think twice before pulling such stunts. Their reasoning is simple: Trump’s foreign policy was framed around strength and deterrence, not this policy of “let’s make a deal” that has left the U.S. looking more like a piñata than a world leader.
Rep. Rick McCormick pointed fingers at the Biden administration for its previous sanctions relief to Iran and for what he calls an ongoing capitulation to the Hamas wing of the Democratic Party. He made it abundantly clear that the chaos reigning in the Middle East can largely be traced back to the White House’s omissions and blunders. The Biden administration has been no friend to America’s allies, leaving them vulnerable while simultaneously showering Iran with the cash it craves. As McCormick so aptly put it, these chickens have finally come home to roost.
As the missile blitz continues, a few Democrats are cautiously commending President Biden’s reaction to the situation. They popped up like daisies in spring, touting the administration’s military response. Still, it’s hard to escape the feeling that their praise is less about genuine support and more about trying to polish a tarnished apple. Still, for Republicans, the message remains clear: America must learn the hard lesson that backing down only invites more aggression. On Capitol Hill, nobody is praying for peace when it’s progressives who keep inviting trouble at the gate.
