An Indiana man showed off his action-hero skills when he turned the tables on a would-be robber and used the criminal’s own gun to shoot him dead. Talk about a plot twist. According to a report, Brent Smith of Indianapolis was enjoying a relaxing evening at home when Damon Swanigan decided to crash the party. Swanigan forced his way into the house and, without skipping a beat, smacked Smith in the head with a pistol. How rude. Smith quickly realized he was being robbed and decided he wasn’t going down without a fight.

In a scene straight out of an action movie, Smith and Swanigan engaged in a wrestling match for the gun, crashing through a glass table in the process. Smith managed to get the upper hand and, with a badass move, grabbed Swanigan’s firearm and shot him. But that’s not where the excitement ended. The gunshot seems to have triggered a symphony of gunfire from outside, presumably Swanigan’s buddies who were waiting eagerly.
Amidst the chaos, Smith retrieved his own gun and fired back at the intruders, proving that he is not one to mess with. The criminals slithered away, leaving behind a trail of bullet holes in Smith’s home and a parked car. Swanigan, unfortunately, met his demise on Smith’s front porch, which must have been quite the sight for the neighbors. Smith expressed his regret over the incident, saying he didn’t want to have to kill another man. But hey, when it’s a question of survival, you do what you gotta do.
Luckily, Smith wasn’t hit with any charges and was released after being detained for a few hours. Now, the police are on the hunt for the other would-be robbers, who probably ran away like scared little mice. In Indiana, where this all went down, they have something called the Castle Doctrine, which means Smith had every right to defend himself and his home. So, lesson learned: Don’t mess with Brent Smith, because he’s not just an ordinary homeowner— he’s an action hero in disguise.
