Republicans rejoice as Hunter Biden faces nine new indictment charges, leading Democrats to admit that President Joe Biden’s chances for re-election have taken a hit. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) reluctantly conceded that the grounds for charging the president’s troubled son were “legally justified.” He even admitted that Hunter Biden has engaged in activities that warrant prosecution. However, despite Hunter’s illegal shenanigans haunting Biden’s 2024 campaign, Murphy was quick to deflect, assuring everyone that it’s Joe Biden who will be on the ballot come November.

The latest legal blow to the president’s son includes nine new tax charges, comprising three felonies and six misdemeanors, along with previous allegations of tax evasion and other related misdemeanors. And the cherry on top? Hunter Biden’s failed plea deal over firearm charges from this past summer.
Predictably, Hunter’s antics are taking a toll on his father’s political future. In fact, recent polls confirm that the American people are not blind to the Biden family drama. A significant 63 percent of likely voters believe that Biden’s handling of his son’s dubious foreign business dealings is downright unethical or illegal. According to an Associated Press-NORC Research Center survey, the sentiments are clear: 33 percent consider it corrupt, while 30 percent label it as unlawful. Shockingly, only 30 percent of Americans believe that Biden did nothing wrong. It seems like the majority of the public isn’t buying into the Biden family’s innocent act.
Notably, Harvard’s Center for American Political Studies, Harris X, and The Harris Poll survey also shed light on the widespread belief that Biden had actively supported and participated in Hunter Biden’s business ventures. The evidence is stacking up against the Biden family, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for Democrats to sweep these accusations under the rug.
When pressed about Hunter Biden’s apparent exploitation of his father’s influential name, Sen. Murphy swiftly redirected the conversation by pointing fingers at the Trump family’s business dealings. Attempting to turn the tables, he highlighted Jared Kushner’s affairs with Saudi Arabia during the Trump presidency. However, when reminded that the conversation was about the Biden family, Murphy went into a typical defensive mode, resorting to criticizing former President Trump and his policies while conveniently skirting the issue at hand.
It’s abundantly clear that Democrats are struggling to defend the indefensible. With Hunter Biden’s laundry list of legal woes piling up, the Biden administration’s attempt to steer the narrative away from the glaring misconduct has fallen flat. Despite their efforts to tout Biden’s economic policies, his record-low approval ratings on handling the economy speak louder than their words. The American people are watching closely as the Biden family’s legal troubles unfold, and come November, they will have the chance to make their voices heard.
