Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by a U.S. Capitol Police officer while storming the Capitol on January 6, yet her widower says no one has reached out to him about what happened.

Jesse Babbitt, who told CNN he’s been married to Ashli for more than 14 years, said he watched the House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday and was “disappointed” that lawmakers didn’t devote their time to his wife’s death.

“I feel like it’s an injustice,” Jesse said Thursday night during a phone interview with CNN. “It should have been the biggest thing discussed.”

In a written statement, Babbitt said he wrote to other lawmakers but has not heard back from any of them. “I did get a reply from one Congressman – Rep. Adam Kinzinger,” he said.

He went on to say that he doesn’t know why the committee is ignoring his request for an investigation into his wife’s death.
