This groundbreaking report from the Center for Immigration Studies uncovered data from the 2022 Census Bureau’s Survey of Income and Program Participation. The findings are crystal clear: immigrant households, including those who have become naturalized citizens, are leeching off welfare programs at an alarming rate.

If you think it can’t get any worse, think again. The study shows that a whopping 54 percent of immigrant households are tapping into at least one welfare program. Yes, you read that right. These individuals, many of whom are here illegally, are taking advantage of the system that you, as a hardworking American, have funded.
But wait, there’s more. When you exclude naturalized citizens from the equation, the numbers are even more outrageous. A mind-boggling 59 percent of households led by green card holders or illegal aliens are shamelessly mooching off welfare benefits. And to add insult to injury, some of these benefits are being accessed through their U.S.-born children, affectionately known as “anchor babies.”
Don’t be fooled into thinking that only low-income immigrant households are cashing in on welfare. The study uncovered that even higher-income, better-educated, and childless immigrant households are shamelessly siphoning off welfare benefits at a higher rate than native-born Americans. It’s a slap in the face to every hardworking taxpayer in this country.
