Iowa’s Republican Attorney General Brenna Bird has made her stance clear – she’s all in for former President Donald Trump. While the state’s GOP governor, Kim Reynolds, has thrown her support behind Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, Bird is firmly in Trump’s corner. She firmly believes that Trump is the only candidate who can take down President Joe Biden come election time. According to Bird, the Hawkeye State was at its best when Trump was in charge, and she’s convinced that he’s the key to reclaiming that greatness.
Despite DeSantis gaining the governor’s endorsement and spending considerable time campaigning in Iowa, Bird has observed unwavering support for Trump throughout the state. The latest polls only serve to confirm her observations, with Trump leading at 50% and DeSantis trailing at 18.4% in the lead-up to the Iowa caucuses scheduled for Jan. 15.
Bird’s support for Trump stems from his proven track record as president, something she believes sets him apart from the other candidates. In her eyes, Iowans are hungry for a return to the policies and achievements of the Trump era, and she fully expects them to rally behind him come caucus time.
She views Trump as the champion of constitutional freedoms and a defender of the Constitution, qualities she believes are essential for the next leader of the nation. As Trump faces legal challenges from various corners, Bird has stood by him unwaveringly, even leading a multistate effort to oppose his gag order.
