At a press briefing, White House press secretary Jean-Pierre was asked a variety of questions about her inconsistent statements and how she learned about the Biden scandal from the media.

Jean-Pierre had told reporters last week that the search for documents that were improperly stored by Biden was concluded. However, after additional classified materials were discovered in his home and garage, additional details about the former vice president emerged.

This week, the White House released a statement accusing Republicans of faking outrage over Biden's actions regarding classified information.
To avoid further questions about the ongoing controversy, Jean-Pierre told reporters to contact the White House's current counsel. This move is unprecedented and does not provide transparency.

Jean-Pierre's referral to the legal process to refuse to answer any questions, including about her own role in conveying false or misleading information, is entirely opportunistic. Clearly many of these questions can be answered without undermining the investigation.
