In a seemingly desperate attempt to connect with everyday Americans, Vice President Kamala Harris took to X, also known as Twitter, to wish everyone a “happy Thanksgiving.” She even shared a photo of herself and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, although the way she was cradling his head was more than a little strange. At least it’s better than those embarrassing attempts by some politicians to seem relatable on social media.

But what really caught people’s attention was what was happening in the background of the photo. Behind the VP and her husband, there was a gas stove! Yes, the very same thing that Democrats have been telling us is a danger to our planet due to the so-called “climate crisis” and the push for clean energy. It seems like VP Harris either didn’t notice or simply doesn’t care about the hypocrisy of preaching one thing and doing another.
Back in January, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. warned about the dangers of gas stoves, calling them a “hidden hazard.” He even suggested that they could be banned if they couldn’t be made safe. Yet here we have the vice president proudly posing in front of one. It’s just another example of the Biden administration’s double standards and their willingness to live by different rules than the American people.
It’s not surprising though. This is just another chapter in the ongoing saga of the Biden administration’s forced energy transition. They want us to completely change our lives, homes, and routines to supposedly address the climate crisis, but they have no problem continuing to live as they please. Just look at Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who couldn’t even complete her electric vehicle road trip without relying on gasoline-powered cars. It’s clear that they expect us to make sacrifices while they carry on with business as usual.
Let’s hope Americans see through this hypocrisy and demand honesty and accountability from our leaders. We deserve leaders who practice what they preach, not ones who think they’re above their own rules.
