Kamala Harris Pushes Abortion as Democrats Top Campaign Issue Amid Media Distortion

Abortion has officially claimed the title of the Democrats’ number one campaign issue, soaring to the forefront courtesy of none other than Kamala Harris. It seems this is about the only topic the Vice President has a clear stance on, amid a sea of contradictions and bewildering policies. With various states gearing up to vote on abortion amendments this election cycle, it’s evident the Democrats are trying to use this as a wedge to drive voters into their camp, with help from their ever-loyal media allies.

The press has jumped into action, unfurling a barrage of emotional tales aimed at showcasing the alleged horrors of recent abortion laws and the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. Yet, amidst all the dramatics, a glaring question arises: if these laws are as undeniably disastrous as they insist, why do the media have to stretch the truth so far to paint their narrative?

A pattern emerges as one delves into the details behind these reported tragedies. More often than not, the sensational headlines gloss over key facts, indicating that the supposed impact of abortion laws is practically nonexistent in these sad stories. What the media is serving up resembles nightmares that, upon closer inspection, turn out to be mere fabrications.

For instance, a piece by ProPublica depicting the ordeal of a Texas woman who tragically succumbed to a sepsis infection after a miscarriage has raised eyebrows. The article suggested that a pre-Dobbs law had hindered doctors from providing necessary care. However, a simple look into the facts reveals the law wasn’t applicable in this case; the woman had experienced a miscarriage, and the doctors did engage in care to address the remains, which became a concern only after she was sent home. Misleading reports, it appears, are the order of the day.

Similarly, the case of Amber Thurman in Georgia garnered significant media attention after her death was linked to the state’s stricter abortion regulations. Yet, what the media conveniently omits is that she had taken an abortion pill, and her complications were due to a delay in medical attention, not necessarily to the restrictive laws purportedly in effect. The court of public opinion, as dictated by the media, continues to serve up half-truths as a full meal.

In Florida, the narrative surrounding a woman’s complications after her water broke at 15 weeks has also been manipulated to fit the Democrats’ talking points. Despite the claims of restrictive laws exacerbating her plight, the state’s regulations offer exemptions for emergencies, making the sob story more of a misrepresentation than a genuine account of bureaucratic overreach.

Then there’s Nevada, where a case of a woman arrested for a miscarriage has been paraded about as evidence of oppressive abortion laws. The reality is that the woman actively sought to induce her miscarriage and had prior actions leading up to her arrest that dated back before any laws were altered. The media’s attempt to connect dots merely serves to illustrate their desperation to create a narrative where one doesn’t exist.

Report after report underscores a familiar theme: the media is spinning tales of despair that largely stem from hospital failings and not from an actual prohibition of necessary medical care under the law. Even a CNN piece claimed skyrocketing infant mortality rates post-Dobbs, but the facts suggest otherwise, as they failed to acknowledge the increased number of births leading to their supposed ‘rise.’

The conclusion is evident: the media has chosen sides and are more than willing to obfuscate the truth to aid the Democrats. All the while, they push sensationalist tropes designed not to inform but to sway voters into their corner, illuminating just how skewed the information landscape has become. It’s a classic instance of using misinformation as a tool to achieve electoral outcomes, all while decrying misinformation as a threat to democracy. Hypocrisy, it seems, is alive and well among those who dictate the narrative.
