Kamala Harris Struggles Against Trump as Biden Approval Plummets

Kamala Harris may be stepping up to the plate for the Democrats. Still, her chances of hitting a home run against Donald Trump look about as promising as the chances of finding a unicorn at a progressive rally. While some may snicker nervously at the thought of her candidacy, Republicans need to remember that his record isn’t exactly winning over the American public either. Sure, Harris might have a few points over Trump in some polls, but in the political arena, those numbers could vanish faster than a college kid at a student loan payment deadline.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, isn’t just holding steady; he’s flexing like a bodybuilder after a protein shake. According to recent assessments, Trump’s political stock is on the rise, leaving the Biden campaign looking like a used car lot with only lemon models on sale. Biden’s approval ratings are plummeting faster than a lead balloon, and while Harris might be the shiny new option, she’s still tethered to the baggage of the current administration’s “accomplishments,” aka, the disaster known as Bidenflation.

Sure, some say Harris polls a bit better than Uncle Joe did against Trump, but that’s about as comforting as having a second helping of mystery meat at the cafeteria. Trump is leading in many critical demographics, including independents, by a whopping 14 points against Harris. Essentially, the new candidate looks an awful lot like the old one—just with a different shade of lipstick on the same pig.

As for Biden’s poll numbers, here’s the sobering truth: since the dawn of 2024, he has not led Trump once. Yes, this is a far cry from 2020, when Biden was basking in the glow of daily leads like a kid in a candy store. And while some might claim Harris is a fresh face, it remains to be seen if anyone outside her immediate fan club is paying her any mind. With 19% of voters still uncertain about her, Republicans have a golden opportunity to make her an even larger question mark in the minds of voters.

The Democrats might find themselves left holding the bag. After all, if Harris’s campaign flops as spectacularly as her ambitions in 2020, these early polling numbers may end up being nothing more than a mirage in a barren political desert. Republicans are primed to put the pedal to the metal and capitalize on this opportunity. If they can press her on her policy and record—oh boy—Harris could be cooked before she even has a chance to pull out her favorite barbecue sauce.
