Kari Lake, the former GOP candidate for governor in Arizona, didn’t hold back in her criticism of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. She called him a “phony” after he made comments suggesting that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. DeSantis rejected Trump’s claims that the election was rigged in favor of Joe Biden, stating, “Whoever puts their hand on the Bible on Jan. 20 every four years is the winner.” While DeSantis acknowledged that the election was not perfect, he made it clear that Trump lost.

Lake didn’t hesitate to express her disapproval of DeSantis’ remarks during an interview with Steve Bannon on his ‘War Room’ podcast. She described DeSantis’ NBC interview as “disgusting” and accused him of being a backstabber. According to Lake, the people of Iowa, where she grew up, can easily detect a phony, and they have determined that DeSantis is one. She criticized DeSantis for seeking endorsements and wasting big donor money instead of supporting Trump.
When asked about the 2020 presidential election, Ron DeSantis agreed with President Obama that Trump lost, saying, “I've said many times the election is what it is. All those theories that were put out, did not prove to be true.”
