Rosie Carter’s Tribute Gathering to Draw a Big Republican Player
It’s no secret that the Carter family has had its ups and downs when it comes to political relations, but it looks like even the most skeptical of souls will be gracing the pews at the tribute service for Rosalynn Carter. The big news is that the reluctant former first lady, Melania Trump, will indeed be in attendance, despite her reported hesitance in passing the White House baton to Jill Biden. But, hey, it’s all water under the bridge now, as the Carter Center has confirmed Melania’s presence at the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church on the Emory University campus.

And as if that weren’t enough, Jimmy Carter himself is expected to make an appearance, which is quite the feat considering he’s been in hospice care for some time now. Everyone’s wondering if he’ll be able to make the two-hour journey from Plains, Georgia to Atlanta, but it looks like he’s determined to be there for his beloved Rosie’s tribute.
Of course, the Bidens will be there too, along with a slew of other big political heavyweights, like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris and her hubby, and even the ever-stylish Michelle Obama. And let’s not forget Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp and Marty Kemp, who will be representing the home team.
Rosalynn Carter was a force to be reckoned with in her day, serving as first lady from 1977 to 1981. In the words of the Carter Center, she passed away surrounded by her clan. And what a clan it is, with four kids, 11 grandkids, and 14 great-grandkids left behind.
