Migrant Arrests Plummet Under Biden, Border Crisis Eases

In a shocking turn of events, the number of migrants arrested at the southern border has dropped to the lowest levels seen during President Joe Biden’s tenure. It’s like a breath of fresh air for conservatives who have been shouting about the crisis at the border for what seems like forever. Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Democratic congressman from Texas, spilled the beans during a House Appropriations Committee hearing, revealing that Border Patrol agents made an average of 3,800 arrests per day over the past three weeks. That’s a massive decline, and a cause for celebration for those who believe in border security.

The numbers don’t lie. A mere 79,800 arrests in three weeks is a far cry from the chaos we’ve been witnessing. And if that trend keeps up, Border Patrol might only arrest 114,000 illegal immigrants in a month. That might sound like a lot, but it’s a far cry from the nearly 250,000 per month that we’ve seen over the past 38 months. It’s a win for those who believe in enforcing our immigration laws, and a big, beautiful win at that.

Rep. Cuellar even had the gall to tell Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that “we’re doing something right.” It’s about time someone in Washington acknowledged the reality that the border is a mess, and it’s time to clean it up. This unusual decline in migrant crossings is a welcome change from the surge we usually see in the spring. It’s like a sign from the heavens that maybe, just maybe, things are turning around.

The Washington Office on Latin America, a group that advocates for immigrant and human rights, even admitted that this decline is “very unusual.” They can’t deny the truth any longer. Even they have to admit that the Mexican government has cracked down on migrants entering the country, and it’s affecting their ability to make it to the U.S. border. Maybe Mexico has finally realized that it’s their responsibility to secure their own borders and stop sending their problems our way.

To top it all off, Mayorkas bragged about returning or removing 635,000 illegal immigrants over the past 11 months. Sure, most of them were turned away at the border, but it’s better than nothing. The message is loud and clear: if you try to enter the U.S. illegally, you will be sent packing. It’s about time someone took a tough stance on immigration.

It looks like the Biden administration might actually be doing something right for once. Let’s hope they keep it up, because the American people are fed up with the endless stream of migrants pouring across our southern border. It’s time to put America first, and that starts with securing our borders. Keep ’em out, Biden!
