Well, well, well, brace yourselves, folks, because the consequences of the left’s obsession with inflating wages have hit the fan once again. Mod Pizza, known as “the Chipotle of pizza,” has been forced to close at least five locations in the state of California and 27 locations across the nation. Do you want to know why, dear readers? It’s all thanks to Governor Gavin Newsom’s shiny new $20 minimum wage law. Surprise, surprise!
This socialist scheme has led Mod Pizza to shut down its store in Clovis, near Fresno, finally leaving 15 employees out of a job. And what was the severance package for these hardworking Americans? A measly $2,000 each. Can you believe that? These hardworking individuals have families to feed and bills to pay, and all they got was a tiny sum of cash and a pat on the back.

But the madness doesn’t end there. It turns out, Mod Pizza wasn’t the only one waving the white flag. McDonald’s, Burger King, Chipotle, and In-N-Out Burger in California are also feeling the pinch, with prices soaring to exorbitant levels. Some McDonald’s locations are boldly charging nearly $18 for a Big Mac meal. Good luck trying to afford a meal for the whole family without breaking the bank.
And if you thought that was bad, think again. The California Warrant Act requires employers to give a 60-day notice before laying off employees, but Mod Pizza conveniently forgot to do so. Classy move, Mod Pizza. Classy move. They didn’t even bother to give a reason for closing shop in California, but let’s be real, we all know what’s up. It’s all because of that outrageous $20-an-hour wage increase. The writing was on the wall, people!
The left may think they’re doing a great service to the working class, but in reality, they’re just driving businesses into the ground and making it harder for everyday Americans to make ends meet. So, who’s really benefitting from this mess? Definitely not the hardworking Americans who’ve been left high and dry by Mod Pizza and other businesses scrambling to survive in the wake of this wage madness.
But fear not, patriots! As long as there are freedom-loving Americans like you and me, we’ll continue to fight back against these disastrous policies. And remember, come election time, it’s crucial to support leaders who prioritize common sense over socialist fantasies. Let’s keep America thriving, one pizza at a time.
