In a shocking turn of events, a new forensics report has concluded that Alec Baldwin actually pulled the trigger of the gun that accidentally discharged on the set of the film “Rust,” resulting in the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. This revelation could potentially lead to new charges against the actor, despite previous charges being dropped due to the weapon being modified. It seems like Baldwin’s denials may not hold up this time.
A forensics expert, Lucien C. Haag, examined the old-fashioned revolver used in the incident and determined that the gun could only have been fired if someone exerted around two pounds of pressure on the trigger. This directly contradicts Baldwin’s claims that he did not pull the trigger but only pulled the hammer back and let it go. Additionally, photos of Baldwin handling a revolver on set show his finger on or near the trigger, further raising doubts about his innocence.
It’s no surprise that Baldwin’s behavior since the shooting has been questionable. Instead of showing remorse and taking responsibility, he has consistently positioned himself as the victim and shown callousness towards the victims’ families. This kind of self-centered attitude is truly despicable. It’s clear that Baldwin is more concerned with protecting his own image than acknowledging the devastating consequences of his actions.
While Baldwin’s lawyers may continue to argue that the modified gun makes it impossible to prove he fired it, this new report certainly strengthens the prosecution’s case. The fact that the gun had to be reconstructed with new parts does present some challenges, as it gives Baldwin’s defense an opportunity to claim that the gun didn’t work properly to begin with. However, as more evidence emerges, it becomes increasingly difficult to ignore the mounting doubts surrounding Baldwin’s version of events.
It remains to be seen whether prosecutors will move forward with new charges based on this report. But one thing is clear: Baldwin’s attempts to evade responsibility for his actions are becoming less and less credible. It’s time for him to face the consequences of his reckless behavior and show some genuine remorse for the lives that were tragically lost.
