Nancy Pelosi isn’t leading the House Democrats anymore, but it appears she’s still playing the role of the babysitter. Rumors are swirling that her fellow Dems are running to her with their Biden problems, worried sick about his shaky candidacy.
One anonymous House Democrat from a swing district had a little chit-chat with Pelosi. They claim Pelosi might be thinking it’s time for Biden to make a graceful exit, but she’s not about to initiate that uncomfortable conversation. According to some Politico gossip, she’s enjoying more of a wait-and-see approach.

Democrats are baffled, looking to Pelosi as their political guru. She’s been laser-focused on winning the House for ages, so they’re leaning on her now. Even though Pelosi hasn’t come out publicly asking Biden to take a bow, she’s been hinting that a post-NATO summit would be a better time to dive into those tricky discussions. But with the almost-assassination of Trump distracting everyone, Biden’s back on the hot seat within his own party.
Adam Schiff, Pelosi’s California comrade and all-around shadow, went ahead and voiced what many in the party are thinking. He boldly suggested it’s time for Biden to step aside due to some “high stakes.” It’s like a bad game of hot potato, and Biden’s holding the overly toasted spud.
Pelosi’s treading lightly around Hakeem Jeffries, the current House Minority Leader, trying not to steal his thunder. Even with Jeffries and Chuck Schumer reportedly playing delay tactics with the Democrats’ nominating process, the calls for Biden to take a backseat grow louder each day.
Biden’s insistence on staying put is getting more awkward by the minute. Despite his faltering during the debate on June 27, Democratic leadership is still mum about asking him to step down officially. If his doctors give him the nudge, Biden has only thrown the towel-in option out there. But until then, it’s popcorn time as everyone waits to see how this drama unfolds.
