Pennsylvania’s Population Plunge Proves Leftist Policy Pitfalls!

In the latest federal government update, the U.S. Census Bureau has once again confirmed what conservatives have been warning about for years: Pennsylvania is on a downward spiral, just like the socialist policies of the left.

According to the bureau, the American population is bouncing back from the pandemic, gaining 1.6 million people in 2023 to reach nearly 335 million. But what’s the Keystone State doing? Losing about 10,400 people! That’s right, while the rest of the country is thriving, Pennsylvania is going in the wrong direction.

Not only is Pennsylvania shrinking, but it’s also getting left in the dust by its neighbors. New Jersey gained 30,000 people, Ohio gained 26,000, and even Maryland had a gain of 16,000. Even little Delaware managed to grow by 12,000 people! And what about Pennsylvania’s neighbor, West Virginia? Sure, it’s shrinking too, but it only lost about 4,000 people. Talk about embarrassing!

But wait, there’s more bad news for the Keystone State. According to the Census Bureau, Pennsylvania had 11,000 more deaths than births this year. That’s not a good sign, folks. On top of that, about 25,000 Pennsylvanians packed their bags and moved to other states. It’s like a mass exodus! However, the state did manage to attract 26,000 new residents from other parts of the country. It’s like trying to plug a leaky bucket with a band-aid.

Now, as if things couldn’t get any worse, Treasurer Stacy Garrity is sounding the alarm about a potential $18 billion fiscal shortfall due to Pennsylvania’s “silver tsunami” – where the state’s older population keeps growing while the working-age population shrinks. It’s like a horror movie, but instead of zombies, it’s senior citizens taking over! The Independent Fiscal Office is also warning of budgetary issues as tax revenues fall and government services expand. You know what that means, right? A bigger tax burden for every hardworking Pennsylvanian. That’s the last thing anyone needs!

And don’t get them started on Pennsylvania’s population growth history. The state grew rapidly from 1900 to 1960, but it’s been downhill since then. It took 40 years to grow from 11 million people to 12 million by 2000. Sounds like a real snooze-fest, doesn’t it?

So there you have it, folks. While the rest of the country is booming, Pennsylvania is spiraling into a demographic disaster. It’s time to wake up, Pennsylvania, and smell the economic stagnation before it’s too late!
