The mainstream media would have you believe that former President Donald Trump, if elected again, would use his position to target political opponents. But GOP Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida turned the narrative on its head this Sunday, pointing out that it’s actually Biden’s administration that’s been sharpening the knives.
Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Rubio had a little chat with Dana Bash about the Supreme Court’s latest ruling on presidential immunity related to the Trump election interference case. Bash, attempting to sound concerned, asked Rubio if the court’s ruling protecting presidents from prosecution for their official acts went too far. Rubio, with a knack for flipping the script, didn’t miss a beat. It’s not Trump, he declared, but Biden who’s been on a mission to target political opponents. It seems that under Biden, the DOJ has turned into a political hit squad.

Rubio reminded everyone that the only reason why the Supreme Court had to rule on presidential immunity was that Biden’s DOJ appointed Jack Smith as special counsel to go after Trump. Apparently, in today’s America, some believe the courts should be used as weapons against political enemies. Rubio laid it all out — they’ve tried to bankrupt Trump, silence him, and even jail him. Not just Trump, but his allies have been under siege every single day, thanks to Biden’s Justice Department.
Rubio also highlighted how Trump’s allies, like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, are sitting in jail for resisting subpoenas issued by the Democrat-led House Jan. 6 committee. They argued executive privilege, but the Biden DOJ wasn’t having any of that. Meanwhile, when it came to the likes of Attorney General Merrick Garland and former officials like Eric Holder and Lois Lerner, who defied GOP-led subpoenas, the Biden administration decided not to bother with prosecution. Hypocrisy, anyone?
To hammer the point home, Rubio noted the sheer absurdity of these claims that Trump would turn into some vengeance-seeking president. He didn’t go after Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, or Barack Obama when he had the chance. Instead, the real witch hunt has been conducted by the left. Even when the CNN host rebutted with claims about Biden’s DOJ not acting in a partisan fashion, Rubio wasn’t having it. According to him, Democrats only prosecute their own when they fail to toe the party line — just ask Senator Robert Menendez.
In a world where the left routinely cries foul on Trump, it’s clear who’s been wielding the power to persecute. Rubio made certain everyone understood that Trump’s true “revenge” agenda is about fixing America. And let’s face it, making America great again is far from the dystopian nightmare the left loves to peddle. So, the next time Biden’s supporters start throwing stones, they might want to check the walls of their own glass house.
