Conservative news outlet “The Washington Examiner” reported that the video platform Rumble has extended a hand to social media giant TikTok, in light of Congress making moves to potentially ban the popular app. The legislation looming over TikTok requires it to fully separate from its China-based parent company, ByteDance, or face a ban in the United States. It’s all about making sure that America’s national security isn’t compromised, folks!

Rumble, often seen as the beacon of free speech in the video sharing world, has stepped up with an offer. The platform is prepared to team up with other groups to take over and operate TikTok in the U.S., should TikTok go through with the divorce from ByteDance. Rumble’s CEO, Chris Pavlovski, was quoted saying that they are all set to be the cloud technology partner, boasting about their recent launch of the Rumble Cloud, which stores data on American soil in order to champion the free and open internet. Wow, sounds patriotic, doesn’t it?
But wait, there’s a catch. Pavlovski made it clear that this offer is not free of negotiation. And frankly, why should it be? I’m sure they’d want some guarantees that nothing fishy is going on behind the scenes. I mean, wouldn’t you?
The idea of TikTok severing ties with ByteDance has sparked interest from big names like Shark Tank’s own billionaire co-host, Kevin O’Leary, and Bobby Kotick, the ex-CEO of video game company Activision Blizzard. These moguls are keen on possibly taking the reins of TikTok. It’s a smart move. Why not keep American companies in American hands, right?
Rumble may not have the spotlight like YouTube, but it’s starting to make waves. Earlier this year, it teamed up with Barstool Sports, a powerhouse in sports, lifestyle, and entertainment. Looks like Rumble is steadily climbing up the ladder in the long-form video market. And who knows, maybe TikTok will soon join its roster, making America proud one video at a time.
