The Federal Aviation Administration is probing a scary incident that went down at Chicago O’Hare International Airport this past weekend. The drama unfolded on Sunday evening when a ginormous All Nippon Airways plane, a Boeing 777, was getting ready to zoom down the runway for takeoff. But oopsie daisy, its left wing ended up smacking into the tail bit of a Delta Air Lines plane, a Boeing 717. And get this, it all happened in an area where the air traffic control peeps don’t usually keep watch, according to the FAA.

Thankfully, nobody got hurt in this airplane tango. Phew! It’s a good thing those metal birds didn’t crush into each other while carrying tons of precious cargo, like a bunch of roaring lions on their way to the circus or something.
And just when you thought the skies were safe, a different All Nippon Airways plane had to make a U-turn back to its starting point in Japan not too long ago. Why, you ask? Well, it turns out there was a gnarly crack in the cockpit window of the Boeing 737. Yikes! But hey, the airline folks swear up and down that the crack didn’t mess with the plane’s ability to stay pressurized, so at least there’s that.
Speaking of airplane wackiness, earlier this year, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 had to do a spur-of-the-moment landing job in Portland, Oregon. Turns out a plug in the door went kablooey in midair and punched a hole in the left side of the plane. Now, six passengers are suing Boeing for some big-time cash, claiming they got banged up and super emotionally shook up. This lawsuit isn’t messing around; it says the Boeing peeps have some explaining to do about their “plug”-type passenger doors and other fishy stuff.
The government is hard at work trying to figure out what the heck went wrong with that midair door plug explosion. It’s like they’re playing detective, looking into the details of those doors and sniffing out any other weirdness. Keep your seatbelts fastened, folks – it’s gonna be a bumpy ride as they piece this puzzle together!
