The New York Post readers have been up in arms about the latest blunder from the Secret Service: failing to prevent a sniper attack on former President Donald Trump. It’s almost as if this once-revered agency has misplaced its primary mission somewhere between woke training sessions and virtue-signaling.
According to Post readers, the real issue lies in the clear double standards. When it comes to protecting liberal figures, the Secret Service seems to have no trouble springing into action. Meanwhile, a former President who made America great again? He’s left to fend for himself.
Despite spending billions of taxpayer dollars, it appears the Secret Service can’t prioritize its resources correctly. Perhaps they should stop worrying about diversity quotas and get back to good old-fashioned presidential protection. Instead, they seem more concerned with playing politics than ensuring the safety of American leaders.

Readers were quick to note that such failures would never happen under, say, Nancy Pelosi or Kamala Harris. For them, no expense is spared, no detail overlooked. Meanwhile, Trump, who arguably faced more threats during his presidency, is treated like a second-class citizen. This glaring inconsistency only fuels accusations of the deep state’s bias against conservative figures.
It’s high time the government re-evaluates where its security agencies’ priorities lie. Until then, Americans can only hope that competence and fairness will eventually trump political bias in institutions meant to protect all leaders equally.
