Enbridge, the company running Michigan’s critical Line 5 pipeline, wanted its fight with Michigan’s left-wing attorney general moved to federal court. Why? Because state courts, packed with activist judges, are eager to side with environmental extremists instead of hardworking Americans who rely on cheap, reliable energy.
But SCOTUS said no. The justices ruled that Enbridge missed a deadline, plain and simple. Now the company has to fight its battle in state court, where political games and grandstanding come before the rule of law. Let’s be honest: everyone knows that for years, Democrats have been licking their chops to shut down this pipeline. They claim it’s about “protecting the environment,” but if you dig deeper, it’s about appeasing radical activists and globalist elites, not defending the American worker.

Michigan’s Democratic attorney general has been on a crusade against Line 5 since 2019, never caring about the thousands of jobs on the line or the massive spike in energy prices this would cause for families all over the Midwest. It’s hypocritical—these same liberals complain about gas prices, then turn around and do everything they can to make oil and gas harder to get. When families can’t afford to heat their homes, do you really think the green energy crowd will help? Or will they just blame “big oil” again and push for more government control?
The Supreme Court’s decision wasn’t about environmental policy or saving the polar bears. It was about the rule of law—Enbridge didn’t act fast enough, so they don’t get to move the case. Liberals are celebrating, not because they care about court procedure, but because this mess drags us all closer to their fantasy of shutting down American pipelines and bowing to the demands of global climate zealots.
Every time the left gets a win like this, regular people pay the price. Americans are stuck footing the bill for their political stunts. Want higher gas prices, rolling blackouts, and more dependence on foreign oil? Just stick with these anti-pipeline policies. Maybe next time liberals cheer, they should look a working family in the eyes and explain why their priorities are more important than putting food on the table.
