In a divisive move, the Supreme Court has sided with the Biden administration in a controversial case involving the removal of razor wire along Texas’ border with Mexico. The narrow 5-4 majority decision has sparked criticism, with opponents arguing that it reflects a lack of understanding regarding immigration policies and border security.
The razor wire, strategically installed by Governor Greg Abbott, was a key element of his strategy to combat illegal immigration. This specially engineered wire served as a significant deterrent to individuals attempting to enter the country unlawfully. Critics argue that Texas, being on the front lines, is better positioned to determine how to protect its own borders.
