In a not-so-shocking turn of events, the troubled son of President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, has been hit with federal gun charges. But don’t worry, these charges are the few that don’t implicate good ol’ Joe in any wrongdoing. Special Counsel David Weiss is coming in hot with three felony gun charges that could potentially throw Hunter in the slammer for a whopping 25 years. This comes after a previous plea bargain fell apart, and it’s clear that the law is finally catching up to Hunter.
Now, let’s talk about the charges that were conveniently left out: the misdemeanor charges of willful failure to file federal taxes. It seems that these charges were related to Hunter’s shady business connections that he conveniently made with his dear old dad’s help while Joe was serving as vice president. It’s quite clear that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree here. But alas, the powers that be decided these charges didn’t warrant prosecution. How convenient.
The gun violations, however, have nothing to do with Joe Biden. Sure, he’s been yapping away about his love for gun control and the need to enforce existing gun laws, but we all know that’s just empty rhetoric. So, sorry Joe, you can’t take credit for this one.
Critics have been quick to point out the fishy circumstances surrounding this case. The appointment of Weiss, who was responsible for the slow investigation and failed plea bargain, as Special Counsel certainly raises eyebrows. It’s almost as if they’re trying to cover something up. And let’s not forget the interesting choice of charges: making false statements and possessing a firearm while being addicted to a controlled substance. Sounds like Hunter wasn’t exactly playing by the rules.
Oh, and here’s a little tidbit: Hunter’s lawyers are hinting that they may challenge the gun charges on Second Amendment grounds. You’ve gotta hand it to them, they sure know how to play the game. But let’s be real, this is just another attempt to avoid accountability.
All in all, it’s clear that Hunter Biden’s troubles are far from over. And while Joe may have narrowly escaped being implicated in this round of charges, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the shady dealings of the Biden family. The saying goes, “like father, like son,” and it seems that old saying holds true in this case.
