Top Obama Adviser Urges Biden to Quit, Warns of Sky-High Stakes!

David Axelrod, the strategist behind President Barack Obama’s 2008 victory, has a message for President Joe Biden: it’s time to throw in the towel. New polling shows Biden lagging behind former President Donald Trump in five out of six swing states, and Axelrod thinks it’s time for Biden to step aside and let the next generation of Democrats take over.

Axelrod took to X to share his thoughts, saying that it would be “wise” for Biden to consider stepping aside and letting other Democrats compete for the party’s nomination. He questioned whether it would be in Biden’s best interest or the country’s for him to continue running.

While Axelrod admitted that it’s late in the game to change horses, he pointed to recent polling as evidence that Biden is in trouble. The president is trailing Trump in Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, all states that he won in 2020. He only holds a slim two percent lead in Wisconsin.

One surprising finding from the polling is that Biden and Trump are essentially tied among young voters. Additionally, Trump is earning up to 22 percent support from Black voters in the states where he leads. This level of support is unprecedented for a Republican candidate in the post-Civil Rights era.

Axelrod also pointed out that Biden’s biggest liability is his advanced age. As the oldest-ever U.S. president, Biden has had numerous slips, trips, and other senior moments that have raised concerns about his fitness for office. While Trump also has high disapproval ratings, Axelrod warns Biden not to underestimate the voters who are unwilling to support him.
