The 2024 presidential election is heating up, folks, and it’s gonna be a doozy! We’ve got former President Donald Trump and Sleepy Joe Biden both gearing up for their respective primaries, but who’s got the edge? Well, according to RealClearPolitics (RCP), Trump is leading the pack with a whopping 58.6 percent in the Republican primary. That’s a spread of +43.8, folks. Looks like the Trump train is chugging along full steam ahead!
But wait, there may be some trouble brewing for ol’ Joe. A recent Yahoo!/YouGov poll showed that a majority of Democrats, at 54 percent, actually want to see another Democratic challenger. Ouch, that’s gotta sting. Even more concerning for Biden is that only 51 percent of Democratic respondents want him as the nominee, while a majority of youngins aged 18-29, at 57 percent, want “someone else.” Looks like the youth are not feeling the Biden vibes.

Now, Biden does have some primary challengers, like Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips. But let’s be real, folks, they’re not exactly lighting the world on fire. The poll showed that a whopping 64 percent of Democrats and Independents who lean Democrat would still choose Biden over these other folks. Williamson and Phillips each got a measly 4 percent. Not looking too good for them, huh?
On the Republican side, Trump is still the top dog. Among Republicans and Independents who lean Republican, a solid 56 percent want to see Trump run again. Only 34 percent want “someone else,” and a mere 10 percent are unsure. Looks like Trump has got the GOP locked down.
And when it comes to the general election, Trump is leading the charge. The poll showed that he’s ahead of Biden with 44 percent to 42 percent among registered voters. Not bad, not bad at all. And get this, folks, Trump has more support from his 2020 voters than Biden does. Eighty-nine percent of Trump’s 2020 voters still have his back, while only 82 percent of Biden’s 2020 voters are still feeling the love. Seems like Trump’s base is as strong as ever.
But here’s where things start to get a little rocky for Biden. The poll revealed that a clear majority, 54 percent, of Americans now have concerns about Biden’s age and competence. Yikes! It seems like the public is questioning whether Uncle Joe still has what it takes to be president. Can’t say we didn’t see this coming, folks. Even notable Democrats like David Axelrod have voiced their concerns. It’s not looking good for ol’ Joe.
And let’s not forget about Biden’s so-called accomplishments. The poll showed that less than a quarter of Americans have really heard much about them. But guess what they have heard about? Biden stumbling at public events, making verbal gaffes, and even falling asleep at public events. And those things seem to be sticking in people’s minds more than anything else. Can’t say I blame them, folks. It’s hard to forget those moments.
In fact, a majority of Americans, 58 percent to be exact, don’t think Biden has been “mostly in charge” as president. Ouch, that’s gotta sting. It seems like people have serious doubts about his ability to exercise presidential power. And hey, I can’t say I blame them. Would you really trust someone who can’t seem to stay awake at important events?
Overall, things are looking up for Trump and down for Biden. RCP has Trump leading with 46.2 percent to Biden’s 44.9 percent. That’s a spread of +1.3, folks. And let’s not forget that Trump is also leading in other polls, like Quinnipiac and Fox News. The Trump camp is already celebrating, folks, with a press release saying he’s on track to win back the White House in 2024. They even have a prediction of 292 electoral votes for Trump and 246 for Biden. Looks like the Trump train is gaining steam, folks!
Now, it’s not all smooth sailing for Trump. We’ve got 355 days until the election, and anything can happen. Plus, he’s facing some criminal charges that could hurt him with voters. But hey, as long as he stays out of prison, he’s in a pretty good spot.
So there you have it, folks. The 2024 election is shaping up to be one for the history books. Will Trump make a triumphant comeback? Or will Biden’s age and competence concerns come back to haunt him? Stay tuned, folks, ’cause this race is far from over.
