Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, President Biden seems content to avoid primary debates, a move that hasn’t deterred his opponents from organizing their own showdowns. Spiritual guru Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips are gearing up for their “first debate” in New Hampshire, a state where Biden won’t even appear on the primary ballot after being cut from the first-in-the-nation primary contest.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Trump is the main event the country craves, while the Democrats are left scrambling for attention on the undercard. With Trump’s willingness to step into the ring and face off against anyone who dares challenge him, it’s shaping up to be the debate showdown of the century.
