President Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has been on a roll, arresting around 33,000 illegal aliens in just over a month since he took office. This includes an impressive haul of suspected gang members and even a few individuals with ties to terrorism. The numbers released make it clear: unlike the previous administration, ICE is back in the business of doing its job.
In a refreshing twist, the figures reveal that this latest operation under Trump has already outpaced the total arrests of illegal aliens made during Biden’s first few months in office. The 33,000 arrests claimed by ICE trump the 32,000 illegal aliens that were rounded up by Biden’s team in Fiscal Year 2024. Clearly, if there was a competition for enforcement, Trump’s ICE is firmly in the lead.
Among those apprehended, more than 1,000 were identified as suspected gang members—decidedly more than last year’s paltry number of 483. Throw in 39 suspected terrorists and it becomes evident that this is not just an immigration issue; it’s a national security issue. Finally, some serious action is being taken to ensure that dangerous individuals are kept off the streets.
Sounds like a lot, but there over 10,000,000 free range illegal aliens. We will hit 100,000 in 4 months, at this rate, less than 800,000 in 4 years.

Thanks to the 287(g) program, local law enforcement agencies are partnering with ICE to identify and detain criminal illegal aliens before they can wreak havoc in their communities. The 287(g) program is a prime example of how local authorities can work with federal agents for the greater good—something that was all but forgotten in the previous administration.
However, the ICE leadership has pointed out an urgent need for additional resources, as the agency is already maxed out on detention space. Despite Congress providing funding for about 47,000 ICE beds, they are overflowing with detained illegal aliens. With the demand for deportations ramping up under Trump’s leadership, ICE officials are working hard alongside Congress to expand this critical component of immigration enforcement.
The total number of deportations since Trump took the reins is still a question mark, but ICE assures that the efforts are “stronger and higher than ever.” This trend suggests a tough and proactive stance on immigration enforcement that is likely to continue as Trump pushes for more resources and support from Congress.
