Wow, what a rollercoaster of a news cycle for the UN and the UNRWA! The State Department recently hit the brakes on funding for the UNRWA, the agency that supposedly helps Palestinian refugees, due to their sketchy connection to Hamas terrorists. Oof, that’s not a good look for them. The Wall Street Journal even spilled the tea on how UNRWA workers basically helped keep Israelis hostage. Yikes!
But hold your horses, folks! Before we go handing out gold stars to the Biden administration, let’s remember that this funding pause only applies to new money. So, they’re not fully cutting the cord just yet. And would you look at that? The administration is all in a tizzy about how the UNRWA is going to be perceived. Talk about twisted priorities!

Then there’s this guy John Kirby from the White House, who’s out here pleading with people not to drag the UNRWA’s good name through the mud. Like, really? As if Kirby wasn’t already on thin ice with his wishy-washy defense of Israel. Hmm, sounds fishy to me.
And get this, according to The Wall Street Journal, about 10% of UNRWA’s staff in Gaza have ties to militant groups, and almost half of them have family members connected to these groups. It’s like a family affair, but way less fun. To make matters worse, the report also highlighted Hamas getting cozy with Iran. Can we get some space from this drama, please?
As if that wasn’t enough, Kirby was asked if there’s a chance that more UNRWA employees could be involved in some shady business. His response? “I haven’t seen any information that affirmatively makes that case.” Um, excuse me? Sounds like someone needs to do a little more digging.
Meanwhile, Congressman Chip Roy is on a mission to defund the UNRWA, and he’s not playing around. He’s been waving the anti-UNRWA flag for years, and now, he’s ready to make some moves. Roy’s got a bill up his sleeve to put a stop to the flow of our hard-earned cash to that hot mess of an organization.
