In a move that surprised no one, former New York City Mayor and personal attorney to former President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, announced his intention to sue President Joe Biden. Giuliani took to X (formerly known as Twitter) during a livestream from New Hampshire to make the proclamation, exclaiming, “I’m suing Joe Biden.”

During the broadcast, Giuliani didn’t hold back in his criticism of Biden, calling him a “pathological liar” and blaming him for causing significant damage to national security and loss of life. Giuliani pointed to events in Ukraine and Afghanistan as examples, claiming that these situations wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for Biden’s actions and decisions.

But it wasn’t just about the political implications for Giuliani. He also alluded to personal damages, both to his reputation and his bank account. According to Giuliani, the allegations and statements made by Biden and echoed by the media have significantly harmed his legal practice and diminished his audience on platforms like YouTube. Being labeled a “Russian pawn” and accused of facilitating Russian disinformation has allegedly cost him “millions and millions of dollars.”
Giuliani made it clear that he believes these accusations to be entirely false, insisting that they are “one hundred percent, one thousand percent untrue.” He plans to calculate the exact amount of damages later, but for now, he wanted to emphasize the harm done to his reputation.
The animosity between Biden and Giuliani dates back to the 2020 Presidential election and the investigations into Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine. Giuliani and other Trump allies played a central role in promoting these investigations, which ultimately led to Trump’s first impeachment. Giuliani continued to challenge the election results on behalf of Trump, alleging widespread voter fraud.
Interestingly, just two weeks ago, Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against Giuliani, accusing him of “hacking” his lost laptop and unlawfully disclosing personal materials to the public. The lawsuit claims that Giuliani is “primarily responsible” for the destruction of Hunter’s public image and digital privacy. The attorneys argue that Giuliani and his team spent an excessive amount of time and energy searching for, manipulating, and disseminating data that was taken or stolen from Hunter’s devices. They even contest that the data didn’t come from a laptop but an external drive.
It seems like the legal battles between Giuliani and the Bidens are far from over. While the lawsuit accusing Giuliani of hacking Hunter’s laptop may seem like a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the allegations against the Bidens, it will be interesting to see how these dueling lawsuits play out in court. One thing is for sure, Giuliani has once again found himself in the center of controversy, and his legal battle against Biden proves that he is not going down without a fight.
