The event, scheduled to take place at the U.S. Capitol on May 12, marks Israel’s independence anniversary as a “catastrophe.” Tlaib, who has a history of supporting pro-Palestinian groups, is slated to be the featured speaker at the event.

Tlaib’s involvement in this event highlights her anti-Israel bias and her support for pro-Palestinian causes. The event is being promoted as an opportunity to “educate Members of Congress and their staff about this history and the ongoing Nakba to which Israel continues to subject Palestinians.” However, it is evident that Tlaib is using this event to advance her anti-Israel agenda and further divide Americans on this contentious issue.
The event is sponsored by several organizations, including the Institute for Middle East Understanding, Americans for Justice in Palestine Action, Democracy for the Arab World Now, and U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights. These organizations promote the view that Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian territory and committing human rights violations against Palestinians. Tlaib’s association with these groups and her co-sponsorship of the “Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act” is concerning. This legislation seeks to suspend any U.S. aid to Israel that could potentially be used to commit human rights violations against Palestinians.
