Biden Administration Sent $44 Billion To States With CRT: REPORT

Close×

According to a new report from One Nation America, $44 billion of President Biden's American Rescue Plan COVID-19 relief plan went to states that implemented Critical Race Theory (CRT) in their school districts (ONA).

The $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan (ARP) enabled the U.S. Department of Education to spend more than $120 billion on the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER). ONA, a conservative policy advocacy group, revealed that 13 Democratic-run states utilized ARP ESSER cash to subsidize CRT programs, such as implicit bias training for staff and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

CRT teaches pupils to regard every social interaction and individual as racially motivated. It promotes ending merit, objective truth, and race-based policies to achieve "antiracism."

The DOE produced a paper guiding states on how to use ARP cash after Biden signed the law in March 2021. The DOE report urged states to address "xenophobic and racial harassment" and other reasons "families of color describe for not returning to in-person schooling."

Fox News reports that ARP ESSER gave the CDE $15.1 billion. According to its ARP ESSER proposal, California allocated more than $1.5 billion to local education agencies for unconscious bias training.

Illinois received more than $5 billion from ARP ESSER money, and its re-opening plan prioritized including "anti-racism" into school curriculums. The IDE insisted on setting aside funds to build a statewide coalition to address "interrupted learning and support groups disproportionately impacted by the pandemic"

Chicago Public Schools received $32 million from ARP ESSER for a "comprehensive, culturally responsive universal curriculum."

According to the ONA report, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Jersey also employed ARP ESSER to promote CRT in schools.

The U.S. DOE told the Daily Caller News Foundation that "the Department neither dictates nor encourages the use of American Rescue Plan monies to teach any particular curriculum"

CDE and ISBE didn't react promptly to DCNF's request for comment.
