Biden Admits Trump Fear Fuels 2024 Run: Desperation or Strategy?

President Joe Biden, the gift that keeps on giving, has spilled the beans about why he’s trying for a second term in the Oval Office, and his muse is none other than the liberal-left’s favorite boogeyman, former President Donald J. Trump. According to The Associated Press, Biden let the cat out of the bag during a high-dollar fundraising event in Weston, Massachusetts, by admitting that if Trump weren’t in the race, he might not be running for re-election. Can you believe it? The audacity!

At this lavish soirée, Biden broke it down to his deep-pocketed pals by saying, “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running,” adding, “But we cannot let him win, for the sake of the country.” (Not that the country seems to be doing all that great under his watch, but that’s beside the point.) And of course, this isn’t the first time ol’ Joe has seemingly let his guard down among his wealthy supporters. The AP can’t help but point out that Biden tends to be more candid with the upper-crust crowd, and it sounds like they’re eating it up like an all-you-can-eat buffet.

But let’s be real here. Just because Biden’s running because of Trump doesn’t mean he’s winning any popularity contests. According to a Wall Street Journal poll, Biden’s not exactly leading the pack. In fact, he’s trailing Trump by 4 percentage points in a head-to-head matchup, and things don’t look much better when more candidates are thrown into the mix. That’s a tough pill to swallow, even for the most ardent Biden supporters. And to add insult to injury, Biden’s unfavorability rating has been climbing faster than the price of gas. According to the poll, a whopping 61 percent of folks view him unfavorably, with half of them holding a “very unfavorable” view of the guy. Yikes.

To add salt to the wound, Trump is still sitting pretty at the top of the GOP presidential nominee polls, with a whopping 59.3 percent of the support, leaving his closest competitor, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, in the dust with a measly 12.6 percent. It’s like a rerun of the 2016 election, with Trump stealing the spotlight once again. So, it looks like Biden’s got some stiff competition ahead if he plans on sticking around for another term.
