Biden Blasted for Potentially Empowering Hamas over Israel

President Joe Biden faced heavy criticism on social media on Tuesday, as his official account claimed that Israelis and Palestinians would be living in peace if it wasn’t for Hamas. However, what the President failed to acknowledge is that not only was Hamas elected, but there is also a majority of Palestinians who actually support this terrorist organization.

Although Biden did imply that Israel wanted the current conflict that resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 of its citizens last month, he conveniently left out the fact that Hamas unleashed a deadly terror attack against Israel on October 7th. In a rather ironic statement, Biden’s account posted that Hamas fears nothing more than Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace.

Unfortunately for Biden, his post didn’t sit well with many, given that a majority of Palestinians support Hamas. This blatant oversight only served to fuel further outrage and criticism towards the President.

A recent poll conducted by the Arab World for Research and Development, which was shared by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, revealed that a significant number of Palestinians actually reject the idea of peace with their Jewish neighbors. The poll indicated that a staggering 75% of Palestinians support the October 7th massacre and 85.9% reject coexistence with Israel. Moreover, a majority of the respondents (71.1%) are committed to the restoration of ‘historical Palestine’ and support the creation of a Palestinian state ‘from the river to the sea’.

These findings clearly indicate that the Palestinian support for Hamas and their rejection of peace cannot be ignored. It seems that the majority of Palestinians surveyed even believe Hamas will eventually defeat Israel to put an end to the ongoing conflict in the region.

As President Biden continues to face criticism for his handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it remains to be seen how he will address the concerns and sentiments of the Palestinian people who are clearly in support of Hamas and opposed to peace with Israel.
