The Council on American-Islamic Relations criticized Biden, saying his decision could ruin his relationship with American Muslims. This could spell trouble for Biden’s re-election bid, especially with pro-Palestinian Democrats in key swing states like Michigan.
Biden’s recent flip-flop on the Israel-Palestine conflict, from supporting Palestine to supporting Israel, seems to be a political move to win back pro-Palestinian American voters. By condemning pro-Palestine protests and calling them anti-Semitic, Biden may be further risking his election chances by alienating these voters.
