Biden’s China Capitulation: Kritenbrink Snubs Congress, America Pays the Price

Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink’s utter lack of respect for Congress and the American people is unsurprising given the Biden administration’s constant capitulation to China. Kritenbrink’s trip to China coincided with the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, which is just a testament to how weak and ignorant the Biden administration’s foreign policy truly is.

Furthermore, news has recently surfaced that Cuba has allowed China to build a spy facility on the island, which poses a significant national security threat to the United States. Despite this, the Biden administration is still planning a meeting with senior PRC officials, which has now been rescheduled due to the spy balloon incident.

With tensions between the United States and China on the rise, it is essential that Congress has oversight and transparency from the State Department. However, Kritenbrink blew off a scheduled appearance at a hearing on “Achieving Peace through Strength in the Indo-Pacific: Examining the FY24 Budget Priorities.” Kritenbrink cancelled without sending someone in his place, showing the administration’s unwillingness to engage with Congress and potentially hold back on action against the PRC.

It’s time for the Biden administration to stand up to China and assert American strength and leadership in the face of the CCP’s increasingly aggressive moves. Congress must demand answers and transparency from this administration to hold authoritarian regimes accountable and project strength on the world stage.
